Ssamuel Bloch was married to Caroline Beutler. Her brother Gottlieb Beutler, was my great great grandfather. They lived north of California, Missouri. They had four sons and three daughters. Samuel and Caroline are buried in the Rohrbach Cemetery north of California, Missouri. I have an 8x10 photo of this family. I would like to contact a family member who may like to have it. It is the same as on page 100 of the Beutler-Andres history and genealogy book.

Samuel Bloch, Jr. Obituary
Samuel Bloch died on his farm, 3 1/2 miles north of this city late Monday afternoon. A few days previous he was in California and the day of his death he ate a hearty breakfast and a moderate dinner. He had been subject to trouble with his stomach and Monday afternoon he had a spell and sent for his physician who left him in the afternoon feeling better. Later, about 6 o'clock he passed away. He will be buried at the German Baptist Cemetery near his home probably tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Bloch was born in Switzerland November 30, 1843, being over 73 years of age. Emigrated to Ohio with his parents in 1850 when 7 years of age. In 1860 when 17 years of age he located in Moniteau County and has ever since resided here--he married Miss Caroline Beutler in 1868, who survives him together with three daughters and three sons. Mrs. Koenke and Arthur Bloch in Michigan, Charley Bloch, Colorado, Mrs. John Rohrbach of this county and Mrs. Frank Bloch (Rohrbach) on the old home farm. But one brother, Judge Fred Bloch of his father's family survive. Samuel Bloch was one of the active workers and founders of the German Baptist church of this city. He served a short time in the federal army during our Civil War. He was an ideal citizen and neighbor, much beloved by the entire community, honorable and just in all of his relations in life and his sudden departure was deeply regretted by all who knew him. His children in distant states have been wired and may be in attendance at the funeral.
