Thanks for a reply. Johan that married Veronica died Jan 1832, so I wonder if your estate record is not for this Johan. Tne Manti Church Record is L.D.S. and I think it's a TEMPLE somewhere in Utah. Never did find out, and the record/film didn't say. Temple's are different than churches, they are more important. I do have the dates of bapt. for Johan's children, and their sponsors, but you probably have those. I checked to see the Temple record that I wrote down the documentation on: Baptisms for the Dead, book X2, page 58 & 61. (L.D.S. film #170,425.) On this church record the family is found as Ploch. P & B are interchangeable in German. Magdalena, Susanna & Christina were all bapt. St. Joseph's (Hill) Luth. Church.I corresponded with 2 people on this Johan; I prefer not to send the names over the internet, because of privacy, but I'd send you a letter. Actually you have all the data we could come up with.

There is a John Block, Berks Co., Rockland twp., pg. 42 in 1790 census, head of household. There is a John Bloch, taxed in Rockland twp., single 1788 & 1789, so he had to be age 21 then, so born 1767.

Johann Adam Bloch is my line, used "Adam". Most people in Germany had a baptismal/Bible name, as a first name. Usually went by 2nd name. Standard procedure. I guess him born around 1750, probably Alsace or Germany proper. Died after 1784. Possible only parents: Georg Bloch, possible mother: Anna Elisabetha. Married Magdalena Scheurer, guess born around 1753, Berks Co. Pa. Died after 13 Jan 1797, her father Johannes Scheurer, mother Maria Clara, used Clara/Clora. Had 2 known children, must have been others, but can't find:
1-Anna Elisabeth "Bloog" on bapt. record at Christ (Mertz) Rockland, Dryville, Berks; b. 29 March 1773, bapt. 17 Oct; married Johanes Rohrback. Sponsors at bapt.: Georg Bloog & wife, Anna Elisabetha.
2-Sabina/Sophia Bloog, born 10 Feb 1778, bapt. 6 Apr; bapt
Christ (Mertz). Married 6 Aug 1799, Wilhelm/William Shaffer/Schafer. Sponsors for bapt. were Martin Bart/Bard/Barth & wife Sabina.

No Bloch's/Ploch listed Rockland Twp. in "Tax List of Berks Co. 1767."
Tax Index of Berks Co. Pa. for the Years 1770-1789 has an entry: Adam Bloch, married, living in Rockland Twp., paid taxes in the years 1775, 1778, 1779, 1780, 1781-87. 1784 Berks Co. Pa. Archives, Rockland Twp., pg. 666 says: he was a stocking weaver, zero acres, 1 horse, 4 cattle, 6 people in household. If you have more tax records, they are welcome. My line, of course, is through the Shaffer/Schafer. I cannot figure out how these Berk's Co. Bloch's are related.
