Blinn Family Genealogy Forum
Thank you for providing me with more information. My great-grandfather Christian Blinn was born in 1845 in New Sewickley Township, PA. He was a member of the 159th PA regiment, 14th Cavalry during the Civil War. He married Sarah Ketterer and had the following children: Henry, Albert, John, Frederick, Amanda, Rudolph, Bessie, Edward, and Charles. Frederick, Bessie, and Edward died in childhood of ditheria. All of the remaining children were married with issue, except Charles, who died in his 30's during the flu epidemic of 1919. My grandmother was Amanda, born 1872 and died 1963, who married George Horter. Christian Blinn was a farmer and a vetinarian who first lived in Marion Township, PA (bordering Butler County), and then moved to Rochester, PA. He died in 1910 and is buried in Irvin Cemetary, Rochester.
In 1983, George G. Walker, a descendant of Henry Blinn, another brother of Philip, published a book about the Philip Blinns, who arrived in Baltimore in 1833. This book has been very helpful with aiding me in my Blinn research.
I'm very pleased to make contact with another Blinn cousin.
