Hi Jane,

John, David, Jacob, Absalom, Christopher, and at least one daughter were born to Henry Blessing and his wife Poly. Poly also went by the name Mary and she shows up in the Bedford County census in 1830. In 1840, she shows up in the Monroe County, Indiana census, probably living with Christopher. Since there is confusion about the names of the respective children of John and David, I always thought that my line was from David because the naming pattern goes like this: Henry had David who had William who had Henry who had David Henry who had William (my father's brother) and then my brother David. There are no John's in my line. Anyway, I'm still looking for the rest of my notes, but I do recall that our family line has been traced to Jacob Blessing from the German/Swiss border, and continues with his son, the 8th child, named Henry. I'll let you know what I find.
Cheers,
Julia
By the way, I'm in California. My grandfather David Blessing left Wingate, Texas (late 20's) to come and farm the central valley, and then he was a builder of houses and banks in Los Angeles where he died of cancer in 1956.
Do you have info about Henry Thadeus's siblings?
