Hi Brenda, Whew! is right. Thanks for filling in some of my missing pieces. Also thanks for tidying up the cemetery. I've never been to Bedford County. The only clue I had about the Blessings and Tennessee came from Henry Thadeus's grandson William Lester( my dad's brother) who I interviewed just before he died about 10 years ago. He said he thought the Blessings ended up there after making passage from Germany. I'm still trying to find out where in Germany Jacob Blessing ( the top of the line) came from. All research points to Wurtenburg, but that's a large area. Whlie Henry Thadeus stayed in Texas, his son David Henry, my grandfather, moved to California. My dad and David built houses in Los Angeles. The my father moved north with the family, and we've stayed here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Perhaps, I'll get to Shelbyville some day. It's too bad that we can't get a confirmation on the Blessing/Coates kids. However, since there seems to be a naming pattern, i.e., no one in my family is a John, all are David's,it suggests that David was most likely William Jarret's father. And if the line goes from Henry being the father of John and David, then it makes since because in my line Henry had David who had William who had Henry who had David Henry and William who had my dad (Alvie) and then my brother David. Well anyway cous, thanks for writing. Cheers, Julia Notify Administrator about this message?
