My family comes from a Mary Blennerhassett, Ireland, in the 1700s. Mine married a Rowan. From that family my ancestor married into the Cashel family. Later a Cashel ancestor married into the Crotty family. Now to add to this, that Crotty family went to Ingersoll,Oxford County, Ontario!! I assume that the Blennerhassetts and Crottys prob knew each other. (I recently moved from Ontario to B.C.) And yes, the Blennerhassetts were descended from at least Edward III.
