Judith: But did you know that Margaret and Harman Blennerhassett (they of BH Island and Aaron Burr fame) moved to Montreal in 1819? And that Margaret BH had her only book of poems printed there in 1824? (I am re-publishing the poems after discovery of one of the surely very few copies of her book still existing, in this case, one in western Canada. She is a much better and more substantial poet than even any of us poets knew.) Before moving to Can. they tried Natchez, Mississippi, where Harman tried to grow cotton at Port Gibson on Bayou Pierre. My wife and I made a trip to see that location this past summer -- great fun! In a few weeks I will be reading from the said new book of poems in Parkersburg, WV where the BH Island and now Museum are located -- my home town. I wish you could attend the reading at WaldenBooks, mid-October (probably Saturday, Oct. 19). Well, wish me luck, at least. Perhaps I can help you with more info. concerning M.B. and H.B. -- Ron Hendricks, Atlanta, GA Notify Administrator about this message?
