Judith

Sorry I am late in replying to you, I have been to Ireland for 6 days. I have a family tree of the Blennerhassett's which shows an Ellen Blennerhassett born 1823 and married John West, I think they had 2 daughters Ellen and Mary Anne. Ellen married Thomas Talbot of Ballyhar, Co Kerry and Mary Anne married Richard Huggard of Caherdaniel and Waterville, Co Kerry. Both emigrated to Canada in the 1900s. There is also mention of James Blennerhassett born 1845 in?Clare, Ireland who emigrated to Guelph, Ontario and then to Cleveland Ohio, he became naturalised in USA on 4/11/1889 Toledo, USA. He may have shortened his name to Hassett as some people did. The Blennerhassett's came to Ireland in the early 1500s from the Lake District in England where there is a village called Blennerhassett I am told. Some of them also emigrated to Australia and New Zealand from Ireland. The name Arthur and William was in the family since 15-1600s. I believe we are all related but it is a case of putting the jigsaw to-gether. Where are you living? Is it Canada? We lived there for awhile in the early 80s, our daughter was born at Mississauga General.
Hope you might find some useful information in the above.
Ruth
