Hi,

Just some information for you.....

The name Bleakley appears to have originated in Northern Ireland. At the beginning of the nineteenth century there were at least 5 known Bleakley families in this area, none of which were related to one another!! This was due to the fact that at this time, illegal immigrant "adopted" a common name so that they could "hide" in the country. I have my family traced back to the beginning of the nineteenth century, but seem a bit stuck before then!!
