My Great Grandfather was William John Bleackley, b. April 2, 1864 in Chorlton upon Medlock. His father was Emanuel Bleackley, Born Sept. 27, 1839 in Prestwich, Lancs. Emanuel was born out of Wedlock to Harriet Bleakly of Whitefield, Lancs. and her father was James Blakeley and Hannah Redford of Whitefield.

William John emigrated to Canada from Glasgow (where he was taken to live as a child) in the early 1900's and homesteaded along with his seven sons near Earnfold, Saskatchewan. His sons names were Albert, William,
Robert, Jack(John Scott),Victor Emanuel, Simon Fraser Lovet,
and James Fell.

There are many descendants of the sons spread throughout Canada in Ottawa, Swift Current, Calgary, Vancouver, Vernon, and Whitehorse. Some have also emigrated to the US, Scotland, and South Africa.
