Hi Marc,
I don't have all the details with me as I'm on a working holiday from Australia in London, but the way I heard it is that we were from around the CastleBlayney area in I think Country Monagh (incorrect spelling) its a few hours drive up from Dublin. I went there in Oct last year, couldn't find much info. A family tree person told my parents that the name actually comes from Wales and we moved to Ireland in the 15th Century, then our part moved to London around the time of the potato famine.
There isn't really a lot of Blaineys in the world so it must be traceable..well you would think.
