Looking for parents of Catherine Blauvelt. Any help appreciated. Here is a little about her. Generation No. 1 1. Hollis5 Holman (Oliver4, Soloman3, John2, Solaman1) was born August 21, 1809, and died December 12, 1891. He married Catherine Blauvelt September 21, 1841 in Hempstead or Ramapo, Rockland County, New York. She was born October 3, 1809 in Suffern, New York, and died January 5, 1907 in New York City, New York. Children of Hollis Holman and Catherine Blauvelt are: + 2 i. Richard Stockton Howell May 26, 1856, son of Major Howell and Rebecca Stockton. He was born Ca. 1834. Child of Eliza (Holsman) and Capt. Howell is: + 4 i. Richard Lewis7 Howell (Eliza Blauvelt Holman6 (Holsman), Hollis5 Holman, Oliver4, Soloman3, John2, Solaman1) was born September 30, 1857 in West Farms, New York, and died July 6, 1915 in Spokane, Washington. He married Sarah Jane Sansburn February 13, 1890 in Washington, New Jersey, daughter of Edward Sansburn and Jane Barr. She was born July 6, 1857 in St. Mary's, Ontario, Canada, and died July 2, 1918 in Spokane, Washington. Notes for Richard Lewis Howell: The following is an extract from the Lewis County Bee Newspaper in Pe Ell, Washington: February 14, 1894: Visiting; Dr. R.L. Howell and family of Dakota are visiting at the home of J.G. Dunlap, Pe Ell. Mr. Howell is a brother in law of Mr. Dunlap. Richard Lewis Howell was from the Howell family that connects with the Stocktons of New Jersey as you will see by the inclusion of the Stockton Genealogy. It made it very easy to research these families. Marion Sansburn from Valley City wrote that she knew they lived in Spokane, Washington as they visited from there to Oriska, North Dakota. She said "they had ponies and carts and the girls wore nice clothes as though they were from New York or someplace like that." She married Harry Smith Glaze March 23, 1925 in Chicago, IL; born September 29, 1894 in Clearfield, Iowa; died June 28, 1965 in Spokane, Washington. Notes for Harry Smith Glaze: Harry gained his high school education at Northwestern Academy, a part of the Northwestern University at Evanston, Illinois. After that he attended George Washington University in Washington, DC. majoring in Civil Engineering. He worked for a short time in St. Joseph, Missouri as a draftsman for a structural steel company. Following his discharge from the US Army in 1919, he began working in the advertising field. He started working for the Chronicle in 1921. Because of illness in the family he went to California in 1937, engaging in advertising there. He returned to Spokane and the Chronicle in 1942. Harry was a retired salesman in the Chronicle's Retail Advertising Division at the time of his death in 1965. He had been in the advertising business since 1919 and had been with the Chronicle thirty three years, retiring October 1, 1959. Since his retirement he had been with Garland Printing Company and had helped with the publication of the American Legion newsletter for Post #9, of which he was a member. 8 iv. Catherine Holsman Howell, born September 19, 1895; died October 27, 1959. She married Wilbur Daniel Kirkman July 11, 1930. ALSO, where may I obtain the Blauvelt family book????
