My great-great-grandfather was James Blauvelt born around 1813 in either NY or NJ. His father's name was Abraham. James died (according to the Nickerson Family Asso. books) in 1869. He fought in the civil war and has his name on a monument in Chatham MA. After being a widow he married Edith (Eldredge) Nickerson. She was also a widow. They had my great-grandmother Adelia Edith Blauvelt. He is buried at People's Cem. in Chatham. If anyone has any information about him I would love to hear from you. I have been unable to find much information on him. Most information I have came from the Nickerson Family asso. books.I have gone to his grave in Chatham. James first wife name was Deborah (Doane) Rogers. She was a widow when he married her.
