Blatchleys in Norfolk, England
I would like to trace the family of Arthur & Violet Blatchley who lived in Stalham, Norfolk, during the 2nd World War. The only information I have is from the War Graves Commission website. Their son Ronald Bennet Blatchley was in the RAF and killed on 7th April 1942 over Germany. My great grandfather, William Edwin Blatchley, had a younger brother, Arthur, born in Halam, Nottinghamsire in 1864. He would probably have been too old to be Ronald's father, although not impossible. But possibly he had a son also called Arthur. The reason I think that the family may be closely related to my own branch, is that the name Bennet as a middle name, keeps cropping up in my own research. The family originally came from Somerset, and possibly Wiltshire before that. If anyone has any information on this branch of the family, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Thanks
Joanna
