A curious coincidence; or maybe not. Your ancestor was George Edward Blatchley (not W, but I see on findagrave.com that you know this) In 1858 a George E. Blachley was admitted to the bar in NY. If this is your ancestor (there are a number of variant spellings of Blatchley), it might explain how he came to marry the daughter of a judge.
