I think the William that "went to Kentucky" about 1800 is Williamof Monroe, VA. He was the French and Indian War soldier.He obtained a bounty land grant probably near Boonesborough, which he did not seem to settle immediately.He is fairly well documented in a history of Monroe. People often confuse the Williams of Monroe and Lee.
Some of the Lee Co. Blantons probably moved to KY also, but not with the implication of "went to Kentucky" since they only moved to the next county (Knox=Harlan, KY).
One difference I did note in the two was religion.William of Monroe was a staunch Methodist.William of Lee signed a petition to establish a Presbyterian Church.I wonder if this preference continued in the two family lines.
