Central location is good but you need to make sure 1. It's near some place that is relevant to Blanton's . . . any Blantons, 2. There is adequate hotels/motels willing to offer deals for groups and not be too expensive, 3. That there is a facility that could handle a medium to large group doing what you want to do (i.e., blackboards, large enough walls that allow things to be pinned to it), maybe even projectors that can handle computers.
I'm not necessarily proposing this site but merely as an example to such a place.The Kentucky State Archives in Frankfort, Fayette County Kentucky has conference rooms they said were available.
You can also check the county libraries in whatever place you decide and see if their geanealogical rooms are available or if they have conference rooms.The Fredericksburg library in Virginia, for instance, does so I suspect other places may.
