Mr Stafford,Please do not pick my words apart.
I have only posted my feelings.
Of course there is no "verification" for centuries.I am not as scholard as you may be.Andmay not use the proper words to suit your "exactness".
Family information is my source also .I know some do not believe in Family information that is obtained and collected for years and years. But that is also part of genealogy, to collect information from family members and research. If I leave behind my genealogy for someone -- are they going to have to "research" it all over again because I am a family member. ???? ANd I may not have done it properly ?
I am going on my research and many many others from Thomas of 1642. And yes -- there are those that are trying to change it. I used the word "verification" numerous times. We all can just go on assumption with centuries- which may be right.???
I see people do it all the time on the boards... make assumptions as to who someone may be, or where they may have lived, or where they may have moved to, or whom they may have married.
I posted my feelings only.Mainly because people seem to find things and "hide" them and not share, and they think because they searched "public records" it belongs to "them". I was told "go search for yourself like I did to find it" by someone on the boards, when I asked for help and verification when our lineage was being changed.
My point was -------it can not be copyrighted when obtained from public records.
I was not trying to prove I knew and had verified my ancestors for centuries.Sorry you mis-understood my point.
