My line is actually through Clark Alexander's older brother, James Alpheus Dickinson. My interest in the Blantons was really sparked while browsing through the 1860 census for Spalding County.Clark's father, Clark M., and William Blanton were neighbors. And at the time Clark and Lucy were teens.
I have one child for Clark and Lucy based on the 1870 census: Katie (?) R., age 4.Lucy died on October 29, 1879.The 1880 census lists children Alvan, age 11, Horace R., age 5, and Lucy B, age 2. Clark A. was later marriedto Collie Jackson (who died of TB or "consumption" on May 16, 1889) and Belle Drewry. My great aunt lists the children (without identifying their mothers) as:Alvan Dickinson, Williamson GA; HoraceWilliamson, GA; Drewry, Chicago IL; Raymond, Williamson, GA; Frank, Williamson, GA; Alton, Macon, GA; Susie Belle (Mrs. John Norris), Tunnell Hill, Ga; Hoke Smith Dickinson, Williamson, GA; Mrs. J. B. Wood, Williamson, GA; Mrs. J. B. Carter, Macon, GA; Mrs. Heiman Reynolds, Williamson.I can account for Horace and Alvan in this list.Whether Lucy B. is one of the others is unknown.
I've found that learning about the neighbors and in-laws contributes greatly to my understanding of my own ancestors.I'm also looking for the Dickinson burial ground in Spalding.I believe that it is between the Balnton place at Zetella and Williamson.
