Thank you so much for the information. Have you had the opportunity to check your records for the father of Dempsey Blanks? Was it James or William? Also, do you have anything further on Dempsey after he married Mary Ann Hill and left GA? I am trying to determine if 16 year old Frances Blanks, shown on the 1850 census of Lauderdale Co., MS with her parents Dempsey and Mary Blanks, is my great great grandmother Frances Blanks who married Richard S. Cole. Richard and Frances Cole and their young family are on the 1860 Lauderdale Co. MS census and I have proof that Frances Cole's maiden name was Blanks. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
