Hi, this may or may not have anything to do with you. While I was researching and staying within my grandfather's shtetl areas north of Warsaw, I found a Joani Blank online. Her grandfather's picture looks exactly like my grandfather. Oddly, this Sol Blank came from Lendershausen, Germany (Bavaria?), in the mid to late 1800's. He wrote his memoirs about that time and their are very interesting and informative. A common name of his family and ours is Moses/Moishe. What I have figured is that our Blankitnys came from the West and may have come with the name Blank as many relatives in Poland were using the name Blank instead of Blenkitni(a Polish word meaning BLUE). Therefore, I summize that all or most Jewish Blanks are the same family as Blankitnys/Blenkitnis and now Blanks. Good Luck. Alan Notify Administrator about this message?
