I am decendent from James Bland (Cumberland County England) b. 1575-1620, which is the second line of Blands. There are many Timothy's, James, and Willimas in my line, but I do know that James Bland (4th generation) came to the Virginia Colonies from England in 1687 and was married to a Margaret. Where it shoots from there I am not clear. I can follow my direct decendent line to South Carolina and then to Savannah, GA. Possibly your decendent is from a child other than the direct line to me?

If you have Family Tree Maker, or can read the file, I can email you my tree and you can see if it connects?

Let me know.

John Harris

(btw ... I was adopted by my stepfather in 1975, which is the reason for the name difference. I was born John Cecil Bland, father Jimmy Lee Bland, grandfather Cecil Lamar Bland, GGrandfather Timothy Bland, GGGrandfather William Hillary Bland .. and so on ... and so on)
