Is there a Joshua Bland? James Alexander
Posted by: Lynn Date: February 12, 2000 at 19:03:41

I know that I am repeating myself, but I can go as far back as my great, great grandfather and then nothing!! My grandfather was named Alex, my great grandfather was James Alexander and my great, great grandfather was Joshua Bland. Joshua was married to Mary Ann Scott; he was born in 1827; they had six children, one of which was James Alexander born 1851 or thereabout, and he was married the second time to Mattie Sanford. This was a second marriage for Mattie as well. They had twin sons, Alex and Andrew. James Alexander died when the twins were 7 months old, but there is a question about that, because it is also listed by another that he died before the twins were born. Twin Alex was my grandfather. Can anyone take this line of Blands' and do something with it? I was always told that we were Irish, but now there seems to be some question about that. Please, please, please help me out here!!! thanks so much,
Lynn
