There is a Cornelius Bland, head of household, b. in N.C.,in the 1830 census in Fayette County, TN. There is also a Cornelius Bland in the 1840 census in Shelby County, TN. The ages of these two, if correct in the census reports, indicate that the Shelby County Cornelius was possible 20 years younger than the Fayette County Cornelius. I can find nothing else about these two, but it is rumored that one of them is an ancestor of my husband, Charles Bland. If the word of mouth family history is correct, Cornelius had a son named William. William had a son named Addison. Addison had a son named Thomas Bland. One of Thomas' sons was Charles Bascom Bland, who was my husband's grandfather.
