I am looking for information on Gertrude Vanderbilt Bland (I don't relly know why Vanderbilt was chosen as her second name. She was born in 1912 in Macon GA(or around that area)Her father's name was David Bland and her mother's maiden name was Alberta Clarke. She was married in Chicago in 1929 to Clarence Hubert Blackman of British Guyana who was 20 years her senior, moving to Canada soon after. She had 2 brothers, Tom and George and I believe 4 sisters. Petronia,Noellia, and 2 others nicknamed Doud and Snow. Gertrude was the youngest. Any help will be appreciated.
