I am researching a conjectural connection between Lancelot Bland, d. ca 1650, Orton, Westmorland and Lancelot Bland, born 1723 Barbados, died 1777 Beaufort District, South Carolina. Lancelot, b.1723, is the son of Richard Bland (1680-1737) of Barbados and South Carolina, born England.

Carlisle's citations of the Orton Parish Register in Collections for A History of the Ancient Family of Bland suggest that the following is plausible

1. Henry Bland
+ Christabell Atkinson
2. Lancelot Bland 1608-1650
+ Susanna Taylor
3. Henry Bland 1644-
2. Thomas Bland
+ spouse
3. Lancelot Bland 1643-

Either Lancelot (b.1643) or Henry (b.1644)could have been the father of Richard Bland 1680-1737, whose first-born child was named Lancelot, cited in the first sentence above.

Any information from Westmorland records will be greatly appreciated.
