Frederick Bland was also my great grandfather
I have seen family home and understand from my Aunt Helen Bland Mentzer, who knew him well, that he was a large land-owner and gentleman farmer. I have newspaper clippinds to back this up. My father was Clifton A. Bland and was close to Uncle"Buff" in Bellwood, PA (Wellington) I also remember him. My grandfather was Lute (L.T. Bland )
and owned coal leases in Blandburg, PA. see map of PA. I think Frederick had 11 children but I will have to check with my aunt who is still alive and has much info. on the family.
She went to Germany and was unable to trace
Frederick because the church had been destroyed. I'll try to get my stuff together.
