The elder John Bland that you mention is my 3g-grandfather. He is NOT the father of your John A. Bland, but I believe that he is his uncle. My John (b. 1792) is most likely the justice of the peace performing his younger brother (b. 1802) Daniel's wedding to Narcissa (no M) Babb, but it is possible that this is their father, John Bland Sr., known in his Virginia youth as "Jacky" Bland. Their mother is Hannah Randle. The third and eldest brother, whom I believe is the father of your John A. Bland, was Joseph Bland, b. 1791 in Fauquier County, VA. These men are believed to have all come from OH to IL about 1825. Around 1840 all of John's & Daniel's families (and a couple of their 5 sisters) moved to Cedar County, MO. I believe that the Blands left behind in Perry-Jefferson-Washington-Franklin Counties of IL are descended from Joseph Bland.
