I'm a descendt of those Blands also. You'll be happy to know there's alot of research on these ancestors. Try Charles Bland who has just posted a notice here. Also the Orange Genealogical Society has a periodical called Las Sabinas. I use the ones in the Texas Archives. Our Blands--mother, Elizabeth Smith Bland and her children, Peyton, John, and Caroline migrated from Louisianna. This is interesting research. Peyton was a cattle driver and Elizabeth was a red headed, 6 ft. tall, midwife who packed a gun on each hip!
