This summer I found an article in a book by Dr. Charles Banks - "The History of Martha's Vineyard" which gives some good information on John Bland alias Smith. It gives his will with mention of his daughters Annabel and Isabel together with information about his dual names. Although there is no mention of sons names, it does say that it is inferred that he had other children by his first wife, Isabel, and that his second marriage to Joanna resulted in opposition from some of them which caused him to ignore them in the division of his estate.
