Hi Natalie
My name is Elly (Blanco) Wilson. The Blanco surname in my family I have traced back to approx. 1787 in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England. The name's origin is spanish, but I can't seem to get any further back at this point in time. My GGG Grandfather came to Canada from England in 1830 and settled in Ennismore Twsp. Peterborough County with his wife and 6 children in tow. One additional son was born here. From Ontario they moved to Kansas and Nebraska around
1880's and in 1900 moved to North Dakota and then in 1901 moved to Manitoba Canada. Many of the family are still there today and several branches moved to Saskatchewan and British Columbia as well.
I can only guess that perhaps with the invasion of the Spanish Armada on England maybe some of the shipwrecked spanish made England their home. Is it possible?

Best luck hunting.....Elly
