Cousin Paul,

Thank you for the information. However, I have a problem with the dates. My Selina was born in 1842, Canada and her siblings were born in 1844, Canada and 1850, Fairfield, VT, respectively. If Joseph married Rosalie Arcela Mongeon on 23 Sept 1878, could this be a second marriage, or possibly the marriage of a son named Joseph, if he had a son? Rosalie was certainly not the mother of my Selina, unless the marriage dates are incorrect. Joseph would have been 59 years at the time of this marriage if he was born in 1819. Possibly Felicite was his first wife, she died and he remarried a sister or other relative? If this is the family, it is not surprising that I have not been able to locate this family with the anglizied names. The names are not even close to their original names, with the exception of Blanchard. You have provided some clues which I will check out, thank you.

I did check Joseph Germain Blanchet and Elizabeth Hogue. Unfortunately, I could not find any information coming forward with a listing of their children to make a connection. I found many Josephs in this line, but without data. The same holds true with Felicite Mongeon. The only Felicite I found was married to a Hippolite Girard, on 16 October 1819, in Varennes, Vercheres, Quebec. Marie Felicite was the daughter of Jean Baptiste Monjeau and Marguerite Lavigne. I do have a Lavigne line in my Girard line, but no Marguerite. I eliminated this Felicite because she would have had to be born around 1800- 1805. She would be 19 years older than Joseph, a possiblity, but unlikely if my Joseph was born 1819. Hippolite was the son of Augustin Girard and Marie Therese Martin. This Girard line is not in my direct Girard line and I could not go anywhere with it.

Did you incur any expense in locating this data...please advise. I will do a little more research and get back to you if I find anything. I will be in Burlington, Vermont this weekend. I am not sure I will have the time to go to St. Albans. Again, I appreciate your help.

Julia
