Blanchard OK was named for my grandfather William Grant Blanchard
who with his brother Arthur laid out the townsite near their cotton gin.
He was mayor of Purcell OK several times, and also postmaster. He was born in Decatur IL in 1868 and died in Purcell OK in c. 1946
