The October 2008 issue of MAINE ANTIQUE DIGEST magazine on p. 34-D pictures a portrait of Captain Alfred Blanchard (1809-1866) of Searsport, Maine, c. 1850, that was for sale in a Manchester, NH, antique show in early August 2008. The portrait is printed in black & white on newsprint in the magazine so the reproduction is not high quality, but it still may be of value to descendants. This portrait should be made known to the Blanchard family. I am scanning it in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the family. It may not have extensive genealogy value (no other genealogy information is given about it), but it certainly does have a whole lot of family and artistic value. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please respond by emailing me directly and not by posting a reply on this genforum site, which I might not see. If it were a portrait of a Pease family member, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me. Bill Pease, Lancaster, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
