My grandmother was ALICE BLANCHARD - born London 1875. Her grandfather was Peter Lisson BLANCHARD, born Exeter 1823, who was a Staff Sergeant in the 1st Devon Militia ( according to the 1861 UK Census). He and his wife Mary, had a number of children who were born in Ireland, China, Spain and Exeter. Mary was described as East India British Subject and had her first child at 17. Peter died in 1888 and the family goes off the radar.
Wondering if any of the Blanchard researchers have any information.
