Yes, a John L Blanchard was the son of William P Blanchard &
Mary Barham.
There is a bio of his brother, Frederick B Blanchard, on the internet. If you just type in Frederick B Blanchard on your search engine, this bio should come up.It is from the Peoria Co IL website. In this bio it states that Frederick's father was William P Blanchard. It also lists William's children. They were Louise, Elizabeth, Philena-deceased, William K, Thomas W in Oregon, James C in WA, Mary A also deceased, Daniel H who died at age 5, John L, Mason M, Deliah, Frederick, Henry C living Jasper Co MO & Jemima, widow of Benj. There is a bio for John L Blanchard, son of John L Blanchard & Ester Bliss on the website Iowa History Project at
iagenweb.org/history/A Narrative History of The People of Iowa Vol IV printed 1931under the "B's" pg 182
In this bio it states that John L Blanchard, b 1859 was the son of John L & Esther BlissBlanchard. His grandfather was William P Blanchard.
There is also another bio on the William P Blanchard family
on Stark County, Illinois History and Genealogy: Princeville & Vicinity...History and Reminiscences Vol IOld Settlers' Union of Princeville and Vicinitypublished 1912.
The history of the Blanchard family is written by Mrs. J. E. Merritt 1906.I believe this Mrs. J. E. Merritt is the daughter, Jemima, of William Blanchard mentioned in Frederick Blanchard's bio.
The Blanchard family was in Logan Co KY before moving to IL.This is where we think William P Blanchard & Mary Barham were married. One branch of the Blanchard family of Logan Co KY moved to SW MO.
Did you happen to take a picture of William P & Mary Blanchard stones?
Hope this helps.
