Looking for more information about this Blanchard line. I'm trying to find out what happened to them- they seem to vanish after 1870. My connection is through John Blanchard's wife.

John Blanchard b.abt 1827 in NY; listed in Peoria, IL 1850 census with brother(?) George Blanchard b.abt 1832 in NY. John Blanchard m.17 July 1851 in Cass Co, IL to Sarah MILLER, b.abt 1826, daughter of Thomas MILLER.

In abt 1854 John moved to Steady Run Twp, Keokuk Co, IA and was still listed there in the 1856 census. By 1860 he had returned to central IL and was living in Athens, Menard Co.

He enlisted in Company F, 28th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 19 August 1861 in Athens, Menard Co, IL. He re-enlisted in 1864 and was discharged 15 March 1866 in Brownsville, TX.

In 1870 he was living in Keene Twp, Adams Co, IL.

Children of John BLANCHARD and Sarah MILLER were:
1.) William T. Blanchard b.abt 1853, Keokuk Co, IA
2.) James Blanchard b.abt 1854 Keokuk Co, IA
3.) John D. Blanchard b.abt 1857 in IL
4.) Joseph W. Blanchard b.July 1860, Menard Co, IL
5.) Joshua Blanchard b.abt 1864 in IL
6.) Stephen J. Blanchard b.abt 1866 in IL

Any information about the above family would be greatly appreciated!
