I had ancestors in Charles and Prince George's Counties also and I know I have seen the Blanchard name many times. However, today I was looking at a book on "The Ward Families of Southern Maryland" by Ralph D. Smith; this might be a posibility. He mentions a John Blanshot and William Milstead as sureties for a will of Eleanor Sanders. The source was Charles Co., MD Court and Land Records, Liber T No. 2, p. 542.
