Blanchard, John 1800's Louisiana

I live in North Central LA. We can only trace my family name to a man named John Blanchard. No one knows where he came from. He arrived in the Red River/Natchitoches Parish area, married and had 2 sons. One of these sons is my great grandfather, Lude Blanchard. Lude was the father of my grandfather Pinkston Edward Blanchard. John Blanchard was killed when he was 24. His wife re-married and any hand-me-down stories of him disappeared. I estimate the time his lifetime as being in the 1800's. I hope someone out there can help me. If you have any information, please e-mail me.
