Colleen....James Monroe Blanchard was my gr grandfather. I have his birth as 29 March 1864, Savannah, Catham Co., GA. According to an aunt, he was related to the former Governor of LA. Millie must have been the Aunt that my parents always referred to as Minnie. If so, I have a letter that she wrote to me in 1974 sharing information on the family. You have supplied me with Sallie's full name...thank you. Sallie's father was Banard Lee, born in County Down Ireland. He is buried there in the Pilgrims's Rest Cemetary in Shangaloo LA. My grandmother was Margaret "Maggie" Blanchard. I have Sallie's birth as 28 May 1866. She was born in Mc Neil, Union Co., Arkansas. James and Sallie were married in Bossier City in 1888. I have family buried in the Oakdale Cemetary. I believe that our Blanchards were involved in the Sand Bar Duel. I have a little more on the Lees and Blanchards- but not much. If you want it please contact me..... I still have a cousin living in Alexandria...probably your cousin too.
