Dear Bill,

Thanks for the reply. There probably is a connection to a Blanchard family since your ancestor's first name was Blanchard, and women often put their maiden names in their son's names. One of my great aunt's, who just passed away(she was 91)was named Blanche after her mother, who was the
Blanchard.

There are many Blanchards in Lousiana, of course. I did a search for Blanchards and found some in south Lousiana who seem to have come from Acadia, but I can't for a fact make a family connection to any of them right now. Blanchard. LA, is in Caddo Parish, I believe, which is in north Lousiana. If I ever can make any connections, I will try to e-mail you back, Please do the same.

Sincerely,
Lucy Carriker
