My great grandmother Mary Anne (nee Greene)'s baptism in Basilica of St. John the Baptist, St. John's, NL in 1876 shows her born to John Greene and Bridget Blanche. In this record the 'e' is shown on each of the two last names. Mary grew to marry Thomas William Hughes from NY and died in Boston in 1914 while in labor. I suspect that Mary could have had siblings named Bridget, or Edward and that both could have also ended up in the U.S. Their existence is pure speculation at this point. BTW - also shown as sponsors at Mary's baptism in 1876 are Edward Blanche and Mary Anne Prowse.

It is also possible that these sponsors (i.e., Edward) were brother and sister-in-law to Bridget, or perhaps Bridget's own parents.

Kindly seeking any information you may have on Bridget Blanche, Edward Blanche or Mary Anne Prowse, etc? Thank you!
