My great grandfather was Stephen James Blamey from Cornwall. He was born on November 9, 1843 and came to the US on 4/15/1872. He landed at Castle Garden, NY. His occupation was blacksmith. His wife was Kitty (Kate) Berryman, born 7/24/1846, also from Cornwall. Their children were William John Blamey, Thomas Blamey, Katie Blamey, Edith Annie Blamey, Steven James Blamey, Frank (Fred) Blamey and Minnie Blamey.

The story is that there were three brothers. My great grandfather came to the US. Another brother went to South Africa and the third went to Australia. During WWII there was a general by the name of Blamey (not a common name) in Austrailia. His age would fit as being the son of my great great uncle who went to Australia.

Regards,

Cecily Heroy
