WILLIAM BLAMEY was born in Merthyr-Tydfil, Wales in 1837. On June 28, 1856, he was married to SARAH JONES (born in 1839). They were the parents of ten children. Several were born in Wales; other children were born after they emigrated to America in 1868. They made their home in Belmont County, Ohio.
SARAH BLAMEY died on board ship while returning to Wales for a visit, June 30, 1890. She was buried at sea.
WILLIAM BLAMEY was a coal miner. He died from heart disease on May 21, 1900 in Bellaire, Ohio.
Their son, JOHN ALBERT BLAMEY, was born in Belmont County, Ohio on July 23, 1868. He died in Columbus, OH on October 8, 1946.
JOHN BLAMEY had five children:
ALVIN - by first wife, Kate Odbert.
ALBERT - by 2nd wife, Ella Smith. Died in infancy.
MARTHA - by Ella Smith.
MABEL - by Ella Smith. Adopted by Dr. & Mrs. J.B. Daugherty, after her mother's death.
MARY - by Ella Smith. Adopted by Mr. & Mrs. C.A. Beasecker.
