Betty-
I have yet another long shot question for you. You seem to have done some extensive work on the Blalock/Cash lines.
As I mentioned, I descend from a Dr. John H. Bush and Mary Rowland, hence from Rev. Reuben Rowland and Anna Blalock and thus from the John Blalock who died in 1790 Newberry Co., SC. I can support this line with an abundance of primary sources.
We have established that my John Blalock is in fact the one found in Albemarle Co.(VA) with his sons in law, Reuben Rowland and Micajah Bennett in 1773 and then again in Newberry Co (SC)by 1790.
I cannot prove that my John is the brother of Millington and Richard but BELIEVE it is very likely.
I also cannot prove the parents of my Dr. John H. Bush who FIRST appears ca 1790 in Laurens and Newberry Co., SC. Various sources indicate he MAY have been from Virginia. Recent DNA studies show his line to be closely related although NOT exactly matching those who descend from an Abraham Bush of Lancaster Co., VA.
I BELIEVE my Dr. John Bush MAY be the grandson of a George Bush found in Stafford Co., VA parish registers (Overwharton and St. Paul's). Along with this George Bush was a woman who appears to be his sister named Charity Bush. SHE married Peter Cash. Peter Cash and George Bush appear from the registers to be closely linked as well as neighbors.
Howard Cash owned land in Albemarle Co which eventually was conveyed in part to a John Blalock.
Have you ever, ever come across any info that might further connect the Bush-Blalock and Cash lines and might lead me to clues about Dr. John Bush's lineage and birthplace?????
Dr. John Bush was born ca 1770 BUT DOES NOT appear anywhere until his appearance in SC with the Blalocks. He is of the correct age to have been a son of any of the 3 sons of the George Bush of Stafford Co. Those sons were George, William and John and ALL those 3 names were the first used by Dr. Bush when naming his own sons.
Any ideas??Thanks!
Linda
