I hope that I am not overstaying my welcome!!!!
Here are a few items from SC that I believe show my JOhn Blalock owning land there as early as 1757 although he may NOT have resided on this land. He did however convey this land to his son Lewis in 1760. This same Lewis was name din John Blalock's 1790 Will and would eventually reside in Newberry County.
1757 SC DB T-T:380 William Terrell and wife Ann sell to John Blalock all of Welch Tract, Craven Co. (SC) 200 acres on Pee Dee River in same county.
1772 SC DB A-4:413 Lewis Blalock of Welch Tract, Craven Co. sells to Thomas Vining, 2 1/2 acres on Pee Dee River
1772 SC DB D-4:267 Lewis Blalock and wife Elizabeth to Abel Winds all of Welch Tract, Craven Co. 104 acres, part of 200 acres granted in 1756 to Anthony Pouncey (formerly of Hanover CO< VA). The 200 acres on Pee Dee River adj. William Terrell which was conveyed from Pouncey to Blalock in 1765.
1773 SC DB D-4 Lewis Blalock and wife Elizabeth to Abel Winds, 200 acres in Welch Tract, Craven Co.,, granted in 1743 to William terrell and conveyed in 1757 to John Blalock who in 1760 conveyed same to Lewis Blalock.
Interesting that all these men held land in SC while still residing in VA.
Your thoughts????
