Lorene M. Blalock born Jul 1912 died Dec 1913 Patton, Galveston Co., TX. She is buried in Patton (Yates) Cemetery, Crystal Beach, Galveston Co., TX. She was the daughter of William and Nora (Hines) Blalock. Nora's father was G. W. Hines and owned a hotel in Patton, TX.
Lorene died from a bomb explosion. Her husband refused to cooperate with Run-runners so they exploded a bomb under a hotel room.

This cemetery is located about 12 miles from the ferry landing. When you see a waterslide, turn left on to Bob Road. Go about 100 yeards and on the left you will see a grassy driveway over a culvert. There is are two storage buildings and look straight ahead and you will see a slightly wooded area with weeds. The grass has been mowed from the street up to this small wooded area. There is one visible partial headstone. I am sorry to report that this very small cemetery has been vandalized and used for a dumping ground. There are about 6 or 7 graves here.
I am looking for anyone who may be related to any of the persons buried here so I can get volunteers to help me get permission from the landowner or community of Crystal Beach so a group of concerned citizens can clean up and restore this historical cemetery. Perhaps we can collect funds to replace the headstones or at least fence the cemetery and purchase a plaque with the names and birth/death dates of the persons buried here.
