Don't have a lot of info on Lily except that she was my aunt. My Mother was Georgia A. Blakney married Jim D. Utley. Mother had two brothers: Will, (railroad worker) who married Mamie Crum; Jim (a farmer) who married Eva Reynolds; and three sisters: Rosie who married a Doty (no first name); Minnie who married Elbert Gray; and Lily who married Clarence McLemore. Don't have a lot of info on Grandfather and Grandmother Blakney, except they were from around the McNairy County, Tn area, not far from Corinth, Ms. where I was born. Grandmother Blakney (I just found out) was the daughter of Harbert Hawkins and Visa LaRue, and was said to be a Cherokee Indian (not verified). I am currently doing extensive research on my Father's name, and at the same time connected families such as Blakney; Hawkins; and Flatt. Grandma Blakney's name was Delaney and she was born 1871 and died September 1936, she is buried at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, just outside Corinth, Ms. Hope this little bit of info helps. If you can go further back with the Blakney's and/or Hawkins I'd like very much to hear from you. I'd especially like to hear if you have anything on Grandma Blakney's Indian heritage..
