Which Coleman Brown married Catherine Nalle/ There are two - the one you mentioned born abt 1740 and the previous generation Coleman, brother to Elizabeth, b. about 1715.?? I thought Catherine was born about 1717, making her the wife, most likely, of the Coleman, son of Daniel. Which Catherine Nalle is this, does anyone know - I have not really bothered with this - only checking wills of my direct lines, but since you bring it up... Daniels will is at Orange county ( Daniel's will was date 11 Mar 1745 and admitted for probate 26 Mar 1747 in Orange Co. VA. (WB 2. p. 105, Orange Co. Records).) - I should check it to see what it says vs John Brown's father's will - whom I had a question mark and perhaps a son of a David Brown.

The whole issue of paternity with DNA tests is proving interesting - there are estimates that 5-10% of descendants have a non paternal link indicating affairs, informal adoptions, or a mix of both.
