Hello, Justina

I also have the biographical sketch of Alvin Jay Blakey. He and his wife Carrie Anna Turner subsequently adopted my mother at the age of about 6 months, and named her Katherine Alice Blakey. My mother's biological parents were apparently a cousin of Ms. Turner, but I have never been able to make a conclusive connection. She was originally named Elida Maud Schilling, and was the child of Philip John Schilling Jr., and Elida M. Snyder, and was born in Watervliet, NY on 11/07/1904. Her mother died in May of 1905, which created the need for her adoption. My mother never learned of her biological parents until about 1928.

Carrie's father's name was actually Hubert Turner - as opposed to Herbert in the biography. If you have done any research in the past five years on the Turner family, please let me know because I am still looking for that connection to the Schilling family.

Thank You,
Don Edwards
